First things first. If you own a Wii and don’t own Super Mario Galaxy, then stop reading this review right now and go buy it. If you already have it then good job, continue reading and agree with what I’m about to say. Super Mario Galaxy in my opinion and many others fits the category of "4-D". Not only is it 3-D, but it includes the element of space which is another dimension and it has constant gravity changes which if it was a dimension then it would make it 5-D. This amazing and unique game had everyone wondering about how it was going to be made and played months before its release. When it hit the markets, it was sold out for the first week. I finally got a copy I couldn’t wait to test it out. I am happy to write a review about this game so I can tell any readers what aspects of this game make it so awesome and why to buy it.

The gameplay is very unique. After the introduction at the start you go to observatories and look around in space. The power generator has no power stars so it can only look a certain distance away so you start with one planet. In this game there are quite a few secrets which make it more exciting to try and find them all. Once you’re on a planet they bring back the majority of the enemies of previous Mario installments. Like Mario 64 they have different objectives to earn different stars on each planet, with the occasional boss as one of the objectives. Each boss has its own original tactic which makes the users think how to defeat them. Lots of different world and planets gets more exciting each time as the game passes and after you finish all the planets then one opens up which is the Bowser’s castle. Always having a different world with lots of different traps keeps the player guessing and makes it more challenging.

The controls are the best I could have hoped for. The nun chuck is of course for you to move and the Wii remote points at the screen as a star saying P1. You can do the same moves as Mario 64 for example hold down Z (crouch) and press A (jump) and you will do the huge back flip, but if you’re running then it’ll make you do a long jump. If you stop and suddenly change directions and jump then you will do the cartwheel like Mario 64, but don’t forget the triple jump from Mario 64, just time the three jumps after each other. The gravity is crazy, sometimes they have arrows pointing a direction which is where it down pours all the gravity so you fall, but if you’re on the roof then if you jump you go down then back up giving it the whole “trippy” effect along with the running around a spiral upside down to upright etc.

The graphics in the game are a lot better than what you see on T.V commercials etc. When I bought the game I was expecting what I saw on the commercial which surprised me a lot. The worlds have so much detail and the animations of Mario when you fly through space is just brilliant. I couldn’t picture better graphics for this game even if I tried. Everything on this game the creators have put so much detail into, no wonder it took them so long to make it. The physics on this is excellent, if you are on a mini planet in one of the worlds and another mini planet is above you and you’re attacked by a mob of monsters than you just kick them into the air and the other planet sucks them onto it. This can be easily used as a very useful tactic and can save a lot of time, health and lives.

Probably my favorite Wii game out so far. I wouldn’t make any changes even if I had the chance. You haven’t lived until you have played this game.
