Defense of the Ancients was a hugely popular success for Warcraft III, and now Riot games has hired some of the people behind DotA to develop a new game entitled League of Legends. Gamers take on the role of a Summoner, who can call forth and control Champions on the battle field. The game is online only and combines the best features of session based games with several persistent elements taken from MMORPGs. The game is in closed beta right now and is currently accepting sign ups, so if you enjoyed Defense of the Ancients, this just might be your next big kick.
