Blizzard announced this year at BlizzCon that Starcraft II will be sold as a trilogy, with each of the games focusing on a particular race. The first entry into the trilogy will focus on the Terran campaign, with the second focusing on the Zerg and Protoss races, respectively. Blizzard Vice President Rob Pardo said that the later two installments in the trilogy will be essentially expansion packs, though Blizzard wants them to have the standalone product feel. The multiplayer aspect of StarCraft II will remain very much unchanged from the first game, though some units will be considered unique to certain campaigns and will not be available as playable units in the multiplayer.
