Last week it was announced that the New Xbox Experience for the 360 console would require at least 128MBs of hard drive space to function correctly. This caused an uproar among arcade and core owners, whose 360s shipped without a hard drive. Microsoft has stated it will be offering a solution to owners of these consoles. People with the core unit can head to the memory upgrade page at Xbox.com and enter their console serial number which will in turn make them eligible for a free 512 MB memory card, or a discounted 20GB hard drive for only $20. If you’ve purchased the newer arcade model, you can get the $20GB hard drive and a three month LIVE Gold membership for $30. Not bad!
