After Sony just recently admitted that the PS3 managed to come back from near death, we manage to hear some pretty interesting and fairly confirmed rumors regarding the latest proposed update.

While no set date is actually confirmed, it would appear that the 2.4 update will include a trophy system similar to XBL Achievements and also the ability to check out your messages and friends status without having to completely exit a game.

With these rumors being confirmed by many sources, anticipation for the update is high. The only issue is, no one knows exactly when we should expect it to hit the consoles.
