In what look to be a substantial part of this upcoming Fall update for the Xbox 360, sources connected to Joystiq have confirmed that their will be a new feature known as the Avatars. Replacing the gamertags we’ve all grown to know and hate, Avatars will mix the dynamic of the Mii’s with their in game usability with the Playstation Home’s customization options.

Combining both ideas into one was a smart move, but the queston is, how much will it cost to use? Just like the gamertags have a price to purchase new ones, avatar models may be the same way, or at least customization option will be. Depending on how well they integrate these Avatars will determine just how successful it will be for Xbox Live.
