As great as the first Gears of War was, it had little in the way of storytelling. Along with new weapons, maps and finishing moves, Gears 2 is supposedly going to have one killer story.

Carlos Ferro, who voices Dom in the sequel, says the game is going to be very emotional. “It’s going to be more emotionally effecting than Bioshock. A lot happens.”

I dug Bioshock. I didn’t cry or think “wow, this game changed video games” but it was a great ride. I am somewhat leery of Ferro’s assertion here. But what’s great is that it doesn’t matter as long as there’s chainsaws and headshots.
