An advertisement for a Nintendo DS showing the game "Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure" portrayed the little system as having a much bigger screen than it currently had. The gaming communities ate this picture up as a hint that a widescreen Nintendo DS was surely on it’s way into the hands of hungry gamers world wide, but when you look at the picture, not only does it look face, it’s not even a valid aspect ratio.

When questioned about a 16x9 widescreen DS, Nintendo stated that at this point everything was speculation. Whether that means we’ll be seeing a widescreen DS or that the ad company here just gave Nintendo the viral push they needed to move forward with it, who knows.

The bottom line is, as of now, you can’t buy it.
